Finley manages to get right what so many other entries in this genre get wrong. It has likeable, relatable characters reacting to an unusual and potentially threatening situation with surprising adaptability. It flips your expectations upside-down, pulls you into a story with unique elements to each of the three acts, and sticks the landing.

I sincerely hope that J. Zachary Thurman (the director, producer, editor, and co-writer) continues along this path as he has tapped a vein of talent, humor, and creativity that is sadly lacking in too many horror comedies these days.

I might even dare to dream of a Finley sequel.
